Our Story
It has been my privilege to serve in pastoral ministry for 27 years and become an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. For the past 9 years, I have invested my life specifically in Adult Discipleship and Sunday School Ministries, teaching discipleship skills and Christian truths. Most recently, I have felt God's leading to establish a centralized ministry called The Discipleship Center.
The discipleship avenues I have employed in local church settings are what we use at The Discipleship Center, including:
- Workshops
- Small Groups
- Internet resources and e-mails
- Working with New Christians
- Book and media suggestions
These avenues will be used within the context of helping individuals develop deeper, stronger relationships with God and people. - Ed Darling, Founding Director
Our Purpose
Located in Upstate New York, The Discipleship Center strives to help individuals learn Christian truths and develop discipleship skills as a part of being dedicated followers of Jesus Christ. And, we seek to supplement the training ministry of the local church - not replace it!
We offer help in answering questions like ....
- How can I understand the Bible and get more meaning out of what I read?
- What are some keys to effective prayer?
- How can I confidently know God's will for my life?
- How do I develop stronger relationships with other Christians?
- What does God do to help people who are going through difficult times?
- How has God shaped me so that I can serve Him well, and with joy?
- What can I do to overcome sin and temptation?
- How do I share my faith with more confidence and less fear?
- How can I help new Christians become established in their faith?
